Jill Dawson is a Chicago based Singer/Songwriter with a passion for inspiring others through song. Her music has been featured on WGN, Seventeen Magazine's Peace Body Blog, and endorsed by Dove's Self Esteem Fund's Global Ambassador, Jess Weiner. Dr. Jennifer Shewmaker of Operation Transformation lists Jill Dawson among Adele and Natasha Bedingfield in her "Positive Picks" for uplifting music listening.
Her 2017 single, "Get Your Smile On", is no exception: A ukulele based jam produced by TJ Martin of Back House Productions fills the listeners with "feel good" vibes reminiscent of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours." Her follow up to "Get Your Smile On" is a single titled "Born 2B (Beautiful)," produced by Joe Dillilio and Joshua Staar, and currently being mixed by Grammy nominee, Ryan Freeland (Aimee Mann, Jonathan Brooks, Alana Davis, Bonnie Raitt). It's an anthem to empower women and girls to embrace the legacy of beauty they've been gifted rather than "buy in" to the fallacy that beauty is a commodity.
This song compliments Jill's 2010 acoustic anthem "When I Dream" encouraging girls to be bold, unique, and dream big which was licensed for the children's apparel company Pigtail Pals. She also partnered with nonprofit LeaderSpark, composing the organization's theme "Change Our World Together," as well as wrote and produced music for the teen-focused organization We Stop Hate (Nickelodeon's Halo Award winner).
Jill's songs have been played on public and college radio stations, from east to west coast, and in a multitude of European countries, including Spain, Greece, Germany, France, Finland and Russia. She also topped the Adult Contemporary chart on Australia's MP3.com while she resided there. Today, Jill is focused on prepping for the release of a handful of singles, licensing songs to other artists and raising funds for an EP. She also continues her work with the Melody for Change Project, an endeavor focused on using music to empower youth.
